PEACE ZONE Action is a collaborative group concern to designate private spaces as sites of peace. The different locations could be private premises or houses, working spaces or indoor meeting points. Any place located inside an architectural environment where their inhabitants consciously accept the grafitti PEACE ZONE. To designate any area as a PEACE ZONE will mean to consider it as a resisting site against the unpersonal forces of intolerance and violence. 20 PEACE ZONE aluminum graffiti stencils will be distributed to achieve a soft and friendly dissemination of the text and its message.

PEACE ZONE Action es una acción colaborativa en grupo para designar espacios privados como lugares de paz. Las localizaciones podrían ser instalaciones y/o casas privadas, lugares de trabajo y/o puntos de encuentro en espacios interiores. Puede ser cualquier lugar dentro de un entorno arquitectónico cuyos habitantes acepten el grafitti PEACE ZONE. Designar cualquier sitio como lugar de paz significará considerarlo como un lugar que resiste a las fuerzas impersonales de la intolerancia y la violencia. 20 plantillas de aluminio PEACE ZONE para hacer grafittis serán distribuidas intentando conseguir que su texto y su mensaje se disemine de manera amigable a través de la acción de múltiples personas.

PAULA MARTINEZ´S PEACE ZONE CONTRIBUTION

Paula Martínez no ha hecho un graffiti propiamente dicho. No hay texto esgrafiado sobre ninguna superficie ni nada por el estilo que nos recuerde a los usuales graffitis. Paula realizó el sencillo gesto de sostener con los brazos en alto la plantilla Peace Zone confrontándola con el paisaje. De esta manera y posando ante la cámara realizó su propio autorretrato PEACE ZONE. Digamos que Paula ha realizado su graffiti en el aire y con ello ha designado el lugar hasta donde alcanza su vista como un espacio de paz. Muy bueno !!!

Paula Martínez did not properly do a conventional graffiti. There´s no text on any surface or not any action that we could relate to habitual graffti graphic processes. Paula just did a simple gesture holding the Peace Zone stencil with her raised arms and confronting the text to the countryside. In this particular way, Paula posed in front of the camera taking her own Peace Zone selfportrait with the mountain countryside as a background. Let´s consider that Paula did her graffiti on the air and designated in this way the whole place as a site of peace. I guess that is her wish consciously or unconsciously determinated. The whole site of peace is the enormous area that we can see from the top of the mountain where Paula herself is portraited. Beautiful !!!
